Guild Charter![]() Updated 6-2-2010 Perspective WoW is a game that we choose to play for entertainment. Twilight Alliance Gamers is a tight-nit guild for adults to play WoW in a family environment. We help each other and respect each other, we socialize, we laugh and we have fun. Much of the following is based on common sense, the golden rule, community ideals and the respect of others. Sadly, not everyone understands those qualities so this document must exist. Summary Our member base consists primarily of adults who enjoy the ability to be ourselves, chat freely with each other and enjoy WoW in whatever context makes each of us happy. We all have careers, families and other responsibilities outside of WoW that take priority over WoW and the guild so we play WoW as a way to have fun, relax and socially interact with other people that are like us. The only children allowed in the guild are those of existing guild members and they need to follow the same guidelines as the adults. Loyalty is very important to Twilight Alliance Gamers. We nurture a tight-knit group of people who trust and care for one another forming long lasting bonds and friendships. If you are more concerned with yourself, your own needs or loot then this may not be the right guild for you. We are a PvE guild. Though we have a few members that enjoy PvP, PvE is our more our focus. However, we encourage all members to play how they wish to play as long as it does not interfere with any prior commitment to the guild. We are not a hardcore raiding guild. Raiding is another part of WoW that we enjoy regularly. We have the same casual approach to raiding as we do all other aspects of WoW. We have no illusion or desire to ever become a hardcore raiding guild. Code of Conduct Absolutely no drama: No whining, fighting, or constant negative attitude in guild chat, tells, or anywhere else. We have zero tolerance for drama, so please be on your best behavior. We understand that there are woes associated with any game, but please do not spam negativity or incite arguments because they negatively impact the joy of the game. If you have disagreements or complaints, follow the chain of command and talk to the Officers first. If the reason should warrant, the guild leader will get involved and make all final decisions. Chat will be kept suitable for children's eyes. Sexist, racist, or malicious comments will not be tolerated nor will foul language or off-color humor. Our image: We are very proud of our guild and what we stand for and we expect every member to feel the same. Do not do anything that can be traced back to you or our guild that could degrade our image. When you are in game or posting in forums, you are acting as a representative for the guild. Avoid being whiny, annoying, problematic, or disrespectful in these situations. If you make Twilight Alliance Gamers look bad, people will assume that all of our members behave like that. Not only does it hurt your reputation but the reputation of the guild suffers as well. Self-Reliance: Do not harass or beg other guild members for items, money or power leveling. It is expected and perfectly acceptable to ask others for help as long as it is in a polite and respectful manner. If no one is available help you, please do not continue to badger. Be respectful to fellow guild members and all WoW players in general. We pride ourselves in being a tight-knit group, so please treat each other like family. Activity: If, for any reason, you will not be able to join us for an extended period of time , please let us know. We consider this guild a family, and when you are gone we worry about you. If you drop us a line from time to time to let us know what is going on, then we won't constantly worry about your well-being. We like to keep our ranks stocked with active members. Any alts what go inactive for up to 3 months without notice will be removed from the guild. If you need to go afk and intend to return please let us know so your alts won't be kicked from the guild. Involvement: Get involved in the guild! Play with your fellow members, post on the forums, speak up in guild chat. We want your insight, opinions, and ideas so please don't be invisible. We want you to be active in the community and here on the website. There are often important discussions, news, and scheduled events discussed on the website where your opinion might make a difference. Recruiting and Membership Joining Twilight Alliance Gamers is typically done by invitation only. Should you wish to ask to join, contact on of our officers or veterans and let them know who you are and why you want to join our guild. We'll take it from there. Advancing: All new members start as New Recruits and are expected to stay in that group for an evaluation period that is typically about 2 weeks or a period of time sufficient enough for us to evaluate if you will be a good fit for the guild. Existing guild members all have a say on when to promote initiates to members. Once you have been a member for a period time that is typically about 2 months or a period of time sufficient enough for us to agree you are worthy of being a permanent member of the family, then another discussion will take place regarding your promotion to Veteran. Guild Ranks Alts: All alts are accepted into the guild regardless of level. Do not use TAG resources to support alts in another guild. For example, but not limited to, don't withdraw anything from our guild bank and send it to an alt that you choose to play in another guild. Leaving: Should you decide to leave the guild for any reason, please do so in a respectful and mature manner. We understand that not everyone will be a good fit for Twilight Alliance Gamers. Whatever the reason, please be polite and considerate during your departure, and be sure to let us know why you are leaving. If, at any time after leaving the guild, you decide that you want to come back, you are subject to the same process as new members. Leadership Our guild leader and officers are all adults with jobs, careers, families and responsibilities outside of WoW. They dedicate some of their playtime to help with the events, decisions and responsibilities associated with running the guild so that you may 'just play'. Please respect and support them as they not compensated in any way other than seeing all you happy. Guild Officers If you have an issue with someone in a leadership position, please do not take it up with other guild members. Do the right thing and bring your concern(s) to the officer in question or another guild officer. Oftentimes, the problem is but an illusion of one due to a misunderstanding that can easily be worked out if you will just contact that leader and get the facts. Guild Bank Our guild bank uses the barter system. Basically, if you withdraw something then you deposit something of similar value to what you withdrew. If you have nothing to deposit then deposit gold of similar value to the item you withdrew. The bank log files are routinely reviewed. Anyone caught abusing the guild bank is basically stealing from the guild and will be kicked. Guild Bank Loot Loot is an important part of game because it is a reward for our efforts. Our position on loot distribution is an unselfish one in which we try to give everyone that can use gear the chance to roll for it. The following is how we handle loot distribution. Looting Etiquette
Dual-Spec Loot Distribution (for guild runs)
Crafting Share your crafting skills and items with other guild members free of charge. Guild members receiving crafted items should provide or pay for materials whenever possible, especially if the materials are rare or expensive, unless a prior arrangement is made. |
